Microstructural Changes in Central Serous Chorioretinopathy Documented by Spectral-domain Optical Coherence Tomography

چکیده
central serous chorioretinopathy (cSc) was first described more than 140 years ago. due to the rapid development in modern imaging methods, better understanding of changes occurring in the retina in cSc is possible. Spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SdocT) has increased our ability to study this disease, especially microstructural changes during active phase and after resolution of cSc. Sd-ocT enables a highly detailed in vivo evaluation of the individual retinal layers especially external limiting membrane (ElM), the inner and outer segments of photoreceptors and changes in retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), which are the most essential and important in described disease. it allows us better understand pathogenesis of cSc.

Purpose. To analyze microstructural changes in the external limiting membrane (ELM) and photoreceptor layer before and after early and late conventional laser treatment in central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) in 12 months follow-up study. Methods. A retrospective observational study included Group A: 19 patients (19 eyes) with symptomatic acute CSC and Group B: 16 patients (16 eyes) with symp...
متن کاملRetinal Ganglion Cell Complex in Alzheimer Disease: Comparing Ganglion Cell Complex and Central Macular Thickness in Alzheimer Disease and Healthy Subjects Using Spectral Domain-Optical Coherence Tomography
Introduction: Alzheimer disease (AD) is the most common form of dementia worldwide. The modalities to diagnose AD are generally expensive and limited. Both the central nervous system (CNS) and the retina are derived from the cranial neural crest; therefore, changes in retinal layers may reflect changes in the CNS tissue. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) machine can show delicate retinal layer...

متن کاملCorrelation of spectral domain optical coherence tomography findings in acute central serous chorioretinopathy with visual acuity
PURPOSE To evaluate the structural changes in the acute phase of central serous chorioretinopathy and after its resolution, using spectral domain optical coherence tomography, to correlate these tomographic changes with visual acuity (VA). METHOD This was a prospective study of 100 consecutive patients with acute central serous chorioretinopathy. It was based on presenting the best-corrected ...

Objectives The operating room is a place of surgical intervention with its accompanying bodily and cognitive strain on the performers. Stress in the operating room may lead to the onset of central serous chorioretinopathy as reported hereby in a retina surgeon and is labeled as operating room central serous chorioretinopathy. Methods The same operator performed the optical coherence tomograph...
